Kauai is one of those places: an island I remember fondly and enjoy sharing with others through Kauai Guide. Based in Fruita, Colorado, I run Grand Valley Domains, a collection of travel websites built around something I care about: helping people find places to explore, meals worth seeking out, and the right place to stay. I bring those details together in one convenient place so travelers can spend less time sorting through information and more time looking forward to their trip.

How Kauai Guide checks its information

Prices, hours and access on Kauai change often, and more so during the Hurricane Lowell recovery. Our process is simple and visible on the page:

  • Park, trail, road and harbor status comes from official sources such as the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, the Hawaii Department of Transportation, the County of Kauai and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, plus dated local news.
  • Every row on our resort status tracker and our what's open on Kauai page shows the source we checked and the date.
  • Business names, prices and rules are checked against the operator's own website before they appear on the site. If we can't verify something, we leave it out.
  • Pages carry an updated date, and we review the recovery pages at least weekly while closures continue.
  • Spot an error? Email ceo@reksales.com and we'll check it and fix it.
