Kapaa sits on the east side's Coconut Coast, the island's most central base. The coastal bike path, food trucks, and Wailua River kayaking are minutes away (the Sleeping Giant trails are closed after Hurricane Lowell as of October 2026), and both the north shore and Poipu are about 45 minutes by car. It is the best-value area on Kauai.
